Dragonlance Nexus, the site behind the Dragonlance Canticle, has been nominated for an Ennie for best fan site!
Unfortunately, the Canticle itself did not get nominated for best podcast. That’s okay, though, since they’ve just started this year and have such great podcasts as Fear the Boot to contend against.
For those not in the know, the Ennies are the big RPG awards at GenCon each year.
The Dragonlance Nexus was created in 2001 by Tracy Hickman, Matt Haag and Trampas Whiteman. Beyond the Dragonlance Canticle podcast, the Dragonlance Nexus offers a Lexicon, a product listing with over 125 Dragonlance novels, a fan section with art, music, and rules for the Dragonlance RPG, and so much more.
Voting for the Ennies will be open to the public on July 16. Be sure to cast your vote to support the Dragonlance Nexus!”

July 10th, 2007 — Precision Pictures Pty Ltd. announced today it has acquired the film rights to Parsec Award winning author Matt Wallace’s acclaimed experimental podcast novel The Failed Cities Monologues. The Sydney-based production company has also purchased the rights to Wallace’s short story “Delve.” The author will adapt both properties for the screen himself.
“It ain’t Rogue Pictures,” Matt says, referring to fellow Podiobooks author Scott Sigler, whose novel Infested was recently optioned by the Universal Studios subsidiary, “but I’m definitely excited. Mostly because it excuses me from getting that job at Kinko’s for another couple of months, at least.”
Matt is currently scripting an as-of-yet unnamed project for another Australian production team. He expects to begin working on the adaptations within the next few months.
The Failed Cities Monologues are set in a dystopian version of New York City and combine elements of cyberpunk, noir, and gothic horror. It is notable for its multi-perspective storytelling technique, which shifts between the point of view of eight different protagonists. “Delve” is set on a small space station in the distant future and concerns a small group of people working to reconstitute the human race after it has been decimated by a bizarre plague.
Both The Failed Cities Monologues and “Delve” originally appeared on the award-winning Variant Frequencies podcast, a member of the Farpoint Media family of podcasters.

He’s from the Empire. He’s here to help
TD-0013, writer and performer of the popular “A Different Point of View” segments and upcoming FarPoint Media distributed show “A Different Point of View: The Podcast” needs your help!
The surly Stormtrooper will be donning the armor and full regalia of the Imperial Sandtrooper and walking 6.1 miles in the Arizona sun to raise money to help fight Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that generally strikes people between the ages of 20 and 50. Symptoms can range from numbness in the limbs to paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatments are giving hope to those affected by the disease.
“I do this every year because it´s something I can be proactive in,” TD-0013 said. “Most of the events I´m part of, the 501st is used as glorified ’set-pieces’, or giant action figures. These are all great events too, but I guess the MS Walk is my baby because I feel like I´m helping make a future change. I´m doing something to help cure and prevent it.”
