Phoenix, AZ – October 24, 2008 – The following statement was issued today by Michael R. Mennenga, President and COO of Farpoint Media:

It is with real regret that the President-COO announces the retirement of Samuel K. Sloan, who has been the FarPoint Media Executive News Director since the company’s launch and Content Producer for the Slice of SciFi Podcast/Satellite Radio/Video News show since its inception in March 2005. He wishes to thank Mr. Sloan for his outstanding service in that post for nearly four years, during which he has given invaluable service and dedication to FarPoint Media and all of its podcasts, video programs and Websites, as well as conducting many ongoing relationships with television networks, movie studios and public relations companies throughout the entertainment industry and news business on behalf of FarPoint Media and Slice of SciFi. A 20 year veteran of broadcasting, Mr. Sloan spearheaded the management for one of the Organization’s most important departments.

Mr. Sloan will leave the FarPoint Media News Department effective November 3, 2008. The earlier than expected retirement was precipitated by personal medical issues. However, Mr. Sloan will remain on staff until further notice in a very limited capacity as a consultant for FarPoint Media, assisting the company’s successor to the position vacated by Mr. Sloan — Mr. Michael Hickerson.

Michael Hickerson has served on the news staff of Slice of SciFi as a qualified journalist for nearly a year and was hand-picked by Mr. Sloan to be his assistant editor six months ago. He was also chosen several months ago the task of heading up the company’s Zombie Channel venture. Mr. Hickerson also works for the office of the Governor of the State of Tennessee, responsible for producing a daily news summary of all that’s going on in that State and issues of interest on the national level. He also maintains the Governor’s web site, as well as working on the internal Website for another department within the Tennessee State government offices. Mr. Hickerson was chosen for the position of FarPoint Media Executive News Director and Slice of SciFi Content Producer based on his past work for FarPoint Media and at the express wishes of Mr. Sloan.
